I was pleased to be a guest this week at the Professional Women's Alliance breakfast, eager to hear my friend Mary Kutheis talk about "Making Connections That Count". We all hear that people do business with people they know, like and trust. But the "like" part can be tricky, right? Mary shared tips that will not only make you more likeable, but may put you at ease if you're a little bit shy or out of practice:
- ask more than tell
- listen more than talk
- be interested more than interesting
Simple. Very true. Love it.
I'm not a gamer, but...
How did I miss this? Watch Jane McGonigal's TED talk on how gaming can make a better world and take inventory of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual resilience. Extra lives for everyone!
In general, you should be reading The Muse. One of my favorite recent articles is this one on How to Get Started on an Incredibly Daunting Project by Eliza Berman. Geez, don't at all know what that's like (see this very website).
